He later pursued a Master of Divinity at Gateway Seminary, where his theological foundation deepened and his pastoral vision matured. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) candidate at the same institution, continuing to explore how the Church can thrive as a transformative and Spirit-led community in today’s world.
Pastor Russ’s ministry vision centers on equipping a Christ-centered, relational, and missional community; a place where believers from all cultures and generations worship, grow, and serve together in unity for the sake of the Gospel.
Christ-Centered Community

Christ-Centered Community

Mission Pointe is a Christ-centered community. We believe that the most important part of life is Jesus and the abundant life He gives; to know Him deeply and to make Him known passionately. Everything we do flows from this pursuit of Christ, because the gospel of Jesus Christ first pursued us. Our identity, purpose, and mission all begin and end with Him.
Relational Community

Relational Community

If God were non-relational, Adam would have remained alone in the garden. If Christ were non-relational, He would have walked through His ministry in isolation. From the very beginning, God revealed Himself as a relational God; Father, Son, and Spirit and He invites us to live the same way.
At Mission Pointe, we believe that being a relational community is essential to our identity. This is not a place to remain anonymous or to simply consume spiritual content. It’s a place to belong, to be known, and to grow together. We love and embrace one another just as Jesus did; loving deeply, praying fervently, forgiving freely, and walking with one another sacrificially.
Missional Community

Missional Community

Mission Pointe is a missional community because God Himself is the first missionary. God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, from His heavenly throne to earth to reconcile and redeem humanity. The same sending heart of God now defines who we are as His people.
We are called to live as a sent community; to look outward rather than inward, to see beyond ourselves and beyond the four walls of the church building. Wherever we go, we carry the love, grace, and message of Jesus to a world that desperately needs Him.
